Great Sutton is a village on the A41 road, about 7 miles from Chester and 10 miles from Birkenhead. It forms part of the Borough of Ellesmere Port & Neston.
The Choir attracts singers from as far afield as Wallasey and Birkenhead. It was formed in 1947 and continues to have wide appeal being in demand for a variety of functions. Choir activities have included festival work, massed male voice concerts in London and elsewhere, visits to Holland and Finland, fund raising concerts in aid of various worthy causes and entertainment for the sick and elderly. We enjoy our singing, be the programmes classical or less sophisticated, the music we perform ranging from 16th Century madrigals to items from modern Musicals.
We are members of the North Wales Association of Male Voice Choirs who have performed choral arrangements by our conductor at the Royal Albert Hall and other venues.
Our conductor has also, for the last 24 years, provided us - and other Charities - with a means of fundraising by producing calendars featuring pen-and-ink, and, more recently, water-colour views of Wales and Cheshire.
Calendar 2001, in both English and bi-lingual versions, is now available, and retails at £ 3.00. It may also be had at a generous discount (the amount depending on the number taken) as a fund raiser for any worthy cause.
